One of the things that Tony does around the New Year is clean out his fridge. The purge helps him get a fresh start on healthy eating. However, there is a dark side to pulling stuff out of the fridge. We shared the scariest and oldest things in our fridges this morning.
Leftovers, no matter how well-intended one is to eat it, can sit and fester for ages in the fridge. Tony had to throw out a bunch of leftovers. John asked Tony if he tosses the tupperware leftover and all into the trash. As much as it freaks Tony out, he manages to open, clean out, and sanitize the tupperware.
There have been times when John wouldn’t go through the effort. He’s thrown out tupperware with leftovers in it before. Better a contained biological hazard than have to smell the stomach churning stench of food gone bad.
Julie threw out crab dip recently. She had to scrape out the dip with a baggie and seal it up before she could smell it. She also recently tossed the egg nog her husband made before Thanksgiving.
Julie brought in the oldest thing she could find: a can of Crisco from beyond 2012. There’s really no way of telling how old it truly is, but the date on the can said it expired in 2012. John put it to the sniff test and it still smelled okay. Check out the pictures below!
